Dr.N.Yesodha Devi, is the Principal of PSGR Krishnammal College for Women for 15 years and presently the Secretary of the college, one of the leading educational institution in the textile city of Coimbatore (Tamilnadu, India) which focuses on Women’s education. She has more than 40 years of experience in the field of education. Her unique governance and dynamic leadership have led the institution through many milestones such as FIVE Star Accreditation by NAAC, Autonomy, ISO Certification, Accreditation with ‘A++’ Grade, “College of Excellence” by UGC and 4 th position in NIRF ranking and pioneer in starting both B.Voc. Degree and Community College Programmes of UGC. Yet another milestone is the Recognition of the college by DST – FIST and DBT STAR College scheme. She is the Director of DST – Rural Women Technology Park (WTP) at Pillaiappampalayam, Annur Taluk to empower women in rural areas through innovative technologies.
She is a Post-Graduate in Commerce in1979, from Madras University and awarded Ph.D in 1993 from Bharathiar University. Her key area of expertise is Financial Management and as a research guide, she has guided 8 M.Phil. Scholars and 11 Ph.D scholars under her guidance.
As a teacher, lecturer and reader her career spans over 36 years and the last twenty four years as the administrative head of the institution. As Principal, she has spearheaded various
innovations and changes in the system to elevate them to meet global markets. As Chairman, Board of Studies, Bharathiar University, she has initiated changes in curricula and introduction of new courses. She is the chief organizer of about 200 conferences and seminars and has authored 25 publications and an equal number of paper presentations.
Dr.Yesodha Devi plays a decisive role in many core academic committees. She was the senate member of the Bharathiar University and Chairman of the Search Committee for the selection of Vice-Chancellor, Mother Terasa University, Kodaikanal. She is member of College Committee & Academic Councils of several colleges and member of IQAC & Result Board of Bharathiar Universities. She is also member of selection committees in appointment of Principals. Sheserved as UGC expert committee for CPE & Community College. She has motivated the students and faculty to achieve national and international excellence both in curricular and extracurricular activities. She was a part of the 7 member delegation of Bharathiar University to visit China on an academic mission in 2008 and also a Member of delegation from Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) visiting Singapore on an Education Mission. She has also visited USA ,Germany and Tanzania established MoU with many Foreign Universities
Dr.Yesodha Devi, volunteers her service to society through various forums as Women’s
Voluntary Service, Guild of Service, Indian Red Cross and CII. She is also associated with the National Institute of Defense – Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, as the Regional partner for the Geriatric Care programme. She firmly believes in the concept of team work to achieve.
At present, she is the Secretary of PSGR Krishnammal College for Women and Syndicate
Member of Bharathiar University.
